Iowa has instituted Access to Recovery (ATR)

ATR is a three year grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. This is an initiative that was established by the President and it provides users with vouchers to purchase recovery services, such as residential treatment or even long-term alcohol and drug treatment. It plans to show that they can redue the barriers to treatment, give needed support to clients who can choise programs from an array of community based providers as well as faith-based treatment providers. This comes from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Access to Recovery (ATR) project are pleased to announce that Iowa has been selected as an ATR 4 grant recipient.
