Division of Substance Abuse Services

Kent Hunt, Associate Commissioner of the Alabama Single State Agency that contracts for drug treatment services for those who do not have insurance or the ability to pay for a program. The programs listed below are state funded programs.

If you do not qualify for a state funded program, please call us and we will find a program that fits your ability to pay for services. All programs that we have referral agreement have a 70% or above success rating. State funded rehab centers usually have no better than a 10% success rate.

The Division of Substance Abuse Services has the responsibility for development, coordination, and management of a comprehensive system of treatment and prevention services for alcoholism/drug addiction and abuse. Responsibilities encompass contracting for services with local providers, monitoring service contracts, evaluating and certifying services programs according to departmental standards for substance abuse programs, and developing models for a continuum of treatment and prevention services.
